Be Friends to Each Other

Jesus calls his disciples ‘friends’. When we think about friends, on Youth Sunday, what impacts us the most is how our friends act toward us: kind, generous, helpful are all adjectives to describe ‘good’ friends. But Jesus didn’t just want to be friends with his disciples; he wanted them to be friends with each other too. By extension, we are also called to be friends with Jesus and with each other. This may not be easy. Love can get tiring. Our ability to love everyone is limited. None of us does it perfectly. But God has a store of love from which we can draw when we have exhausted our own resources. And so, we just keep trying. On Youth Sunday, let's be good friends with each other -- like the members of our Youth Group!

Our Mission

The mission of Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church is to inspire God's community.  We are an outreach congregation who prays, worships and works together; to put into action God's Mission in the world.  The history of Mt. Hermon illuminates a rich tapestry of colorful characters and extraordinary events, and was formally organized in 1881.  See how our past leads to God's plan for Mt. Hermon's future.
